Living through the last few decades in Black America has been like watching a powerful athlete get injured and hooked on drugs. After some glorious advances that took place during the 1960s, we found ourselves in the middle of drugs, guns, chaos, violence, miseducation, mass incarceration and extensive media manipulation.
Our kids had been changed from aspiring intellectuals to wannabe gangsters, thugs and hoochie mamas, thanks to corporate manufactured music that muted the best in us and glorified the worst in us. Racist policies such as the false War on Drugs turned into a war on Black people, destroying our families, traumatizing our babies and making us hate ourselves in unimaginable ways.
Education was replaced by prisons. Jobs were replaced with weapons. Urban neglect turned many of our communities into warzones and we soon found ourselves to be the victims of taxation without representation: Resources have been taken away from us, with almost nothing being given back.
This was all a product of social engineering. They want us to perish. They want us gone. They don't want us to exist.
This week, we are taking a huge step toward engineering our own future by gathering some leading thinkers in our community for a series of forums and conversations that will elevate the condition of our people.
The All Black National Convention is taking place in Atlanta, Georgia this week from September 15th - 17th, at The Shrine of the Black Madonna, right in the heart of the African American community. The convention will feature a long list of powerful presenters, who will not only provide insight into solutions for our community, but will also present a series of impactful initiatives to implement the ideas shared at the convention.
We may not solve every problem in the African American community, but we are certainly going to try. This convention has no corporate sponsorship other than The Black Business School. It is financed by us, for us, because we can do it without anyone else's help.
If you'd like to join us at the convention, you can buy tickets and take a look at the agenda by visiting AllBlackNationalConvention. com. If you can't make it and would like to view the livestream, you can do so at DrBoyceLiveStream.com.
This conference will be both powerful and historic. I hope you'll join us. If you're looking for a hotel, we've made a deal with the Fairfield Inn & Suites downtown to get a significant discount on both pricing and parking. Just let them know you're with me.
I hope to see you then.
Until we meet again, please be strong, be educated and be empowered.
Sincerely,
Dr Boyce Watkins
