I suspected this last night when I was over My Middle Brother's House testing Sagat.
I don't really care for what They've done.
Because Sagat is no longer a GOOD FIGHTING CHARACTER.
His Fighting Style IS DIFFERENT FROM HIS Martial Art, which creates a BIZARRE PARADOX.
But since fighting games today are more about what are Your Characters GIMMICKS, then...?
This is fine FOR TODAY'S AUDIENCE WHO ACCEPTS GIMMICKS.
I played fighting games because I ENJOYED FIGHTING.
That day is over.
MASTERING THE GIMMICKS ARE/IS MORE IMPORTANT.
So My Day IS OVER when it comes to CAPCOM FIGHTING GAMES.
SNK Games STILL INVOLVE ACTUAL FIGHTING ALONG WITH THE VARIOUS SPECIAL TECHNIQUES OF EACH CHARACTER, note.
I said SPECIAL TECHNIQUES for the SNK Characters.
Versus?
GIMMICKS.
For Capcom's Street Fighter Characters.
While I was playing Sagat last night?
I began to realize that I'd come into everything with My Expectations WAY TO HIGH!
Street Fighter V - Sagat is AKIN to Street Fighter Alpha-3 Sagat.
Where SFA3-Sagat had insultingly obvious GAPS!
In His MARTIAL ARTS and Ability to Connect with moves like His Standing Middle Kick, which was a staple in the previous Alpha-1 and Alpha-2 games.
Sagat in SFV, the current game, is SLOW.
His moves ARE PRONOUNCED.
AND?
His FIGHTING STYLE is centered around using what You will see in the upcoming video. The Kara Cancel's, as a means of hiding the Fact that the DESIGNERS MAKE HIM A SHITTY FIGHTER ON PURPOSE TO HIDE THE FACT THAT MASTERING THESE KARA CANCEL-KICKS CREATE MASSIVE DAMAGE TO OFF-SET THEIR INTENTIONALLY SHITTY DESIGN OF HIM.
For someone like Me, this is bullshittingly-ANNOYING AND LAZY.
For Others?
MEH!
They'll not give two-fucks about the Fact that He CAN'T ACTUALLY FIGHT ANYMORE.
But is a TRICK-BAG CHARACTER, and Yes I typed, TRICK-BAG CHARACTER.
Designed to make You THINK You can just BULLY AND BULL-RUSH HIM, till Your Ass gets hit by one of these Kara-cancel combos and then MYSTERIOUSLY YOU'RE HALF-FUCKIN DEAD!
Or?
The Player Figures out HIS LIGHT-KICKS, if You can keep Your Distance Right, can pretty much POKE-STOP MOST PEOPLE!
His Medium-standing-Kick can do the same but it's awkward and TOO SLOW TO RECOVER.
STANDING-JAB is another POKE-STOPPER.
His Medium-Punch is AN ELBOW...!?

Disrupts anything moving from Jab-combos, because YOU GET PUSHED BACK FROM EACH HIT!
So if You Hit Medium Punch TO FINISH UP AFTER 2-JABS YOU ARE OUT OF FUCKIN RANGE AND AUTO-WHIFF!

Tiger-Knees are DIRT-POOR SLOW and the English-speaking Sagat TIPS OFF WHICH ONE YOU ARE USING, never mind They don't travel very far and You can be Hit Fairly EASILY IF DONE WRONG, mind You!?
In SFA1 and SFA2, You could Use the Tiger Knee TO QUICKLY GET ACROSS THE SCREEN AND CLOSE DISTANCE!
If TIMED RIGHT!?
You could even use it TO GET OVER FIREBALLS, now...?
Yeah, NO.
So the Tiger-Knee in SFV is something You throw WHEN YOU KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO HIT.
Other than that You're setting Yourself Up to get smacked around IF YOU MISS OR ARE BLOCKED!
The Days of Short Tiger-Knee into a Short Tiger-Uppercut are over.
And timing has to be PERFECT!
To throw a Tiger-Shot and then hit a Tiger-Uppercut when someone JUMPS OVER IT!
It can be DONE.
But I'm too fuckin rusty to do it.
I was telling My Middle Brother and Nephew last night I'd have to BUY A PS4 OR 5 OR WHATEVER THE FUCK # THEY'RE ON NOW!
Then BUY THE GAME!
Then DEVOTE A MONTH OF HEAVY PRACTICE AND LEARNING HOW SHIT WORKS FOR BOTH SAGAT AND THE SFV GAME-MECHANICS!
To "be AN AVERAGE PLAYER OF ANY WORTH"!
And that shit just ain't happening, because at the End of the Day...?
This WILL NOT PUT MONEY IN MY POCKET!
