Tensions between law enforcement and the African-American community as of late have been at a boiling point, with many left wondering who is policing the police.
John Felton, a black man, taped a conversation he had with an Ohio officer after being followed for nearly two miles. During the conversation, the cop initially tells Felton the reason for the traffic stop was because Felton failed to signal “100 feet prior to his turn.”
After receiving Felton’s identification and that of the passenger in the car, the officer returns and tells Felton the real reason he was pulled over was because Felton made direct eye contact with him.
The footage, which was captured in July, and is now beginning to bubble on social media, notes Felton was driving to his mother’s house in Dayton, and began recording once he saw he was being followed by the officer.
“No disrespect, I don’t have anything against police officers but all the sh-t that’s going on now, that’s some scary sh-t to have a police officer just trailing you because you said I didn’t signal? Do you know how that looks?”  Felton says.
The officer then comes clean to Felton and says on camera he pulled him over because “You made direct eye contact with me and held onto it while I was passing you.”
Felton, frustrated and annoyed with the officers admission says he didn’t see him to make direct eye contact but is then cut off by the officer.
“I’m not going to argue you with you about it anymore, you can keep talking and I can give you your license back and give you a citation for the violation and we settle it in court.”
