Just thinking back on everything revolving around Kobe Bryant and what he'd done prior in HIS LIFE?
When I think about it all regarding Him...?
I personally have paid NO ATTENTION to the Death of Kobe Bryant. Nor am I shocked at His Parents NOT being mentioned, nor how the Article posted in Your Comment-section when you created a post to RIGHTFULLY QUESTION why has this happened. Made sure TO AVOID THE FACT that His Parents NEVER SUPPORTED HIS MARRIAGE TO VANESSA BRYANT.
Because THEY WANTED HIM TO MARRY A BLACK-AMERICAN WOMAN, which is ironic, since THEY SET THE TABLE TO MAKE THAT DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE WITH HOW THEY REARED-N-RAISED HIM AND WHERE THEY REARED-N-RAISED HIM AT.
All Kobe Bryant was, in this regard, was Obama Jr., with no real connection to other Black-Americans. Where being cordial and polite and talking a good game does not fool me into thinking and believing that when I meet or read about or learn about a Black-American. Who has had THE PRIVILEGE of being able to be raised abroad and finally return after living elsewhere only to go to the White-suburbs of Lower Merion outside of Philadelphia...?
Heh. He might as well have been raised-&-living in Bucks County, a region known for its warm-sentiments towards Black-Philadelphians, but then again...?
Lower Merion is part of "the Main Line"-suburbs of Philadelphia.
It isn't just that he GREW UP in Lower Merion but HE ALSO GREW UP OUTSIDE OF THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. That is a MASSIVE DISCONNECT FROM WELL-OVER 90% OF OUR BLACK-AMERICAN POPULATION.
And it was bound to lead to trouble in some way, shape, form, and fashion.
Because Him doing ONE OR THE OTHER?
Then MAYBE HE COULD RELATE OR CONNECT with Our People.
But once he was LIVING OVERSEAS and then CAME BACK TO LIVE ON THE MAIN-LINE...?

I can't recall ever hearing Kobe push Our People TO BUILD FOR OURSELVES AND TO NETWORK AMONG OURSELVES TO BETTER OURSELVES WITH OUR OWN HANDS. Let alone actually bankroll or finance any of that. Which is something that all other Races-n-Places do.
I don't know of ANY PROGRAMS OR MEANINGFUL-INITIATIVES CREATED BY HIM FOR BLACK-PHILADELPHIAN YOUTH FOR THE SAKE OF INSTILLING IN THEM A SENSE OF DIRECTION AND GUIDANCE TOWARDS BEING BLACKFIRST AND ADOPTING BLACK-EMPOWERMENT.
Meanwhile I not only REMEMBER what happened throughout the course of His Life AND WHY AND WHAT WENT ON FROM THESE TIMES PRIOR TO HIS DEATH, but also...!?

Kobe Bryant is a TYPICAL SUBURBANITE POSER OUTSIDE OF PHILADELPHIA. Who comes to "the Hood" to TRY TO RELATE to WHAT THEY THINK IT MEANS TO BE A BLACK-PHILADELPHIAN. And usually, a Black-American IN GENERAL.
Then runs back to the Suburbs of Philadelphia.

Kobe Bryant is a FOOTNOTE AT BEST IN A LONG LINE OF "BLACK-AMERICAN" ATHLETES WHO "ACHIEVED SUCCESS" AND MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO OUR PEOPLE, pending on who you ask and where whatever work "he did", is based at.
But it is not like I have seen ANY ACTUAL IMPACT AS A MENTOR AND DAY-TO-DAY BLACK-PHILADELPHIAN. That makes Him ANYTHING OTHER THAN THAT.
