Dr. Boyce Watkins - Why does Hollywood make so many slave movies?

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a wonderful day.

Yesterday, I made a stop on a show called "The Breakfast Club."  I love this show largely because it has a broad and powerful influence on the African American community.  The willingness of the hosts to engage the audience with empowering figures as well as those in entertainment makes the show one of a kind.....even my daughters' friends tell me that they saw the show, which allows me to serve as a pseudo father-figure to children who may not have a dad in the home.

With that being said, one of the things that came up on the show is the over-production of slave movies in Hollywood.  While slave narratives are very important for our children to understand, the oversupply of films that put black people in a position of servitude is very, very disturbing.  I mentioned to the hosts that I don't mind seeing slave movies being made, but it's important that we have diverse stories about the black experience, with many of these stories being told by black people.

I also believe that America's commitment to black servitude reflects itself in the way our children are raised to work for other people for their entire lives.  Black people are not only highly likely to work for others, we are also in the unique position of working for the descendants of our oppressors.  This is, unfortunately, a dead end street.

One of the ways we want to help alleviate this problem is through the creation of programs and products that open the door for our children to be taught a different way of thinking.

To help you with this process, we'd like to offer you the chance to pre-order a set of our Black Millionaires of Tomorrow Fun Flash Cards for children.  The cards present a set of very simple financial concepts that you can present to your children that will arm them with the basics of financial literacy, wealth building and cooperative economics.

The cards will cost $30 when they are released in September, but you can pre-order them this week for a discount price of $25.  Additionally, all shipping is FREE.

To take advantage of this offer, simply click this link

Also, the cards come with a 30-day, 100% money-back guarantee if you are unsatisfied for any reason.  I designed the concepts for these cards based on the expectation that your child will have a financial literacy level of an average college student.

Educating our children is our job, not that of the poorly equipped public school system. Don't delay the education of your child, take advantage of this offer today.  You can pre-order your flash cards here.

By the way, if you're near New York City, I'm speaking here over the next several days.  You can buy discounted advanced tickets by visiting DrBoyceNewYork.com.

Until we meet again, please stay strong, be blessed and be educated.

Sincerely,
Dr Boyce Watkins
