If I didn't post this before, I'm posting it now.
If you are in an interracial relationship, make sure you have the funds stashed away to be able to bounce or bail without becoming destitute. If you are cheating on your significant other, understand that once you move on that Black Person will have to carry forward your treachery, while we are at a critical point of Black American existence.
I am not asking nor expecting any of us to move mountains. Because we are not moving a mountain. This is about basic self-discipline and commitment to rebuilding Ourselves as one branch of the Black Family Tree. We are targeted because Whites have stored most of their power within Nazi-America, like it or not. Fair or not. Which means that we have access to expertise and opportunities that other Blacks do not. We cannot continue to waste THIS FACT, on foolishness. Stop being afraid to speak to one another. Stop being afraid to be around one another. Stop being afraid to trust one another. Start off small and work your way up. Something as simple as a head nod of acknowledgment to "Good Morning." can have a far bigger impact on another Black Persons day than you can possibly realize.
For those of you out there HONESTLY REPRESENTING US, keep going and keep doing what you're doing. Do not lose hope and do not give in to despair. And THANK YOU for doing what you are doing. Here is the article AND LEARN FROM IT. Deadbeats of any kind are wrong, but being MURDERED OVER IT? Being KILLED FOR BEING A DEADBEAT PARENT? Means that there is NO CHANCE FOR REDEMPTION. NO CHANCE to do RIGHT by the children and parent forced to bear the burden alone. Value each others lives and understand that if we don't believe in OUR OWN FUTURE. It is NOT ANYONE ELSE'S RESPONSIBILITY TO DO SO EITHER;
South Carolina city to pay $6.5 million over police shooting of black man
The man, Walter Scott, 50, was shot after fleeing a traffic stop in April. The shooting was caught on a bystander's video and reignited a national outcry over police treatment of minorities.
North Charleston Mayor R. Keith Summey said in a statement that the City Council had voted to settle all potential claims over Scott's death for $6.5 million.
"I am glad the city and the family were able to reach a settlement without the necessity of a lawsuit," he said.
The police officer, Michael Slager, faces a murder charge in Scott's death.
"It could have been a trillion dollars. It would never bring my son back. But I thank them for what they did," Scott's mother, Judy, said of the settlement.
Chris Stewart, an attorney for Scott's family, said the payout was the largest pre-lawsuit settlement in the history of South Carolina and one of the largest in the United States.
He said it would take care of Scott's four children for the rest of their lives.
The settlement comes after New York agreed to pay $5.9 million to the family of Eric Garner, whose death in 2014 after allegedly being put in a chokehold by an police officer was captured on bystander video.
Baltimore said last month it would pay $6.4 million to the family of Freddie Gray, whose death from an injury in the back of a police transport van in April sparked protests and rioting. Six officers are charged in his death.
