Yet another big man is joining the Sixers, only this time it's in the broadcast booth.
Former NBA veteran Alaa Abdelnaby, who played three games for the Sixers during the 1994 season, has been added to Comcast’s Sixers broadcast team. Abdelnaby will provide color commentary alongside Marc Zumoff and Molly French for the upcoming season.
“The opportunity to join the Comcast SportsNet and 76ers family and work alongside Marc and Molly is tremendously exciting,” said Abdelnaby. “The 76ers are building something special and I look forward to sharing their story with our viewers.”
The trio makes their debut tonight at 7 p.m. to call the Sixers preseason matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Abdelnaby fills the void left by former Sixers commentator Malik Rose, who took the job as manager of basketball operations for the Atlanta Hawks. He was previously an analyst for CBS Sports and Westwood One Radio an
The former first round draft pick out of Duke previously served as an analyst for Westwood One Radio and CBS Sports, and told Comcast SportsNet he’s excited about the Sixers.
"I think with the pieces that the Sixers have acquired over the offseason, a guy like [Jahlil] Okafor in particular, a Duke guy, for me in particular it's even more relatable a place because of his presence here,” Abdelnaby said. “But this team is rising, and for me to be able to hitch my ride at this moment is a great opportunity, one I couldn't pass up."
My new home!

You guys HAVE A GREAT ONE! GOODNIGHT AND I'LL TALK TO YOU SOONER THAN LATER! SHUT IT DOWN AND ROLL CLOSING CREDITS!
