However the TRUE NATURE of La-Van's crime goes well beyond the bullshit charges that he had hung around his neck and again!? Was it a jury of his peers or did some judge just slap him with a guilty verdict and go on about his business, let's see;

La-Van Hawkins, ex-restaurant owner, sentenced in federal tax case

Former Detroit restaurant franchisee and business owner La-Van Hawkins will pay restitution up to $5.7 million and serve 10 months concurrent with his current federal prison sentence, under a sentence imposed Thursday in federal court.

Hawkins, 51, formerly owner and president of Wolverine Pizza L.L.C., received that sentence from U.S. District Judge Denise Page Hood in Detroit, on a charge of failing to pay federal withholding and Federal Insurance Contributions Act taxes.

The 2008 case was idle until this past spring, while he has been serving out his 33-month federal prison sentence on a 2007 wire fraud conviction from a federal court in Philadelphia.

Federal officials contend that for all four quarters of 2001, the first, third, and fourth quarters of 2002, and the first two quarters of 2003, Hawkins willfully failed to pay more than $5.3 million out of federal taxes, Social Security and other deductions withheld from employees’ paychecks at Wolverine Pizza.

The company operated more than 80 Pizza Hut franchise locations in Southeast Michigan and other areas at the time.

His defense attorney, Gerald Gleeson of Miller Canfield Paddock and Stone P.L.C., has said Hawkins wanted to resolve the Detroit charges before his federal prison term ends and hopes to “get back to doing what he does well as soon as possible.”

Hawkins was also a majority owner of Detroit-based restaurant Sweet Georgia Brown when it opened in 2002 and sold a total of 89 locations for more than $95 million in 2003.

Failure to pay taxes? While La-Van Hawkins was mobilizing Master Claude Anderson and Farrakhan were trying to build an economic section of Detroit FOR BLACK PEOPLE that could COMPETE with Greektown and all those other places in Detroit. You will NOTE that Hawkins' business was located in Greektown of Detroit. There was NO BLACKTOWN of Detroit which makes ZERO SENSE!

Part of what led to Hawkins destruction was the fact that I DO NOT BELIEVE he was working with Master Claude Anderson and he was FRIENDS with that Nigger-Traitor Kwame Kilpatrick. So bear in mind that Blacktown got scrapped by Kilpatrick and his Nigger-Traitor council members and that ONE LONE WHITEWOMAN. The Whiteman who owns the Cleveland Cavaliers then STARTS SILENT INVESTING AND BUYING CHUNKS OF DETROIT IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS! Kilpatrick GETS ARRESTED! Farrakhan leaves Detroit DISGUSTED! Then HAWKINS GETS ARRESTED! Leaving only Master Claude Anderson who opened a fishery in the location that Blacktown was to be BUILT! But is now surrounded by Whites or whatever and Detroit itself was bought up by the Cavs owner and the Whites who own the Detroit Lions.

Nigger-traitors ON CITY COUNCIL OVERRULED THEM! AND THEN KEPT SAYING THAT WHITE CITIES THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY WOULD STOP DOING BUSINESS WITH DETROIT IF THEY WENT....

Detroit's Cheesecake Bistro has closed.

The restaurant, located in the former Sweet Georgia Brown at 1045 Brush St., next to Greektown Casino, opened last fall. It closed its doors June 21.

Embattled entrepreneur La-Van Hawkins is the face of the restaurant, but in a previous interview with Crain's, he said he was only a consultant to Chicago restaurateur Jerry "Magic Man" Kleiner and anesthesiologist Dr. David Tomkin. Kleiner had denied any involvement.

"I am not involved in any form with the restaurant," Kleiner said in a prior interview. "Initially, they were using my name to put the concept together, but I am officially not on any paper."

Kleiner was unavailable for comment.

I'd have to do some DIGGING to find out where Hawkins stood during the attempt to build Blacktown in the early 2000's. Black Detroiters voted FOR IT. And it was the very same pathetic pieces of shit Black Democrats that they kept electing to office WHO IGNORED AND DESTROYED THEIR ORDERS.
